Let me share an experience I had with the priesthood this week. I was on exchanges with a missionary in the zone who was struggling really bad. We will call him Elder X. Elder X just got a lot of sad and distressing news from home and was not sure what to do. He wants to be here, but also feels powerless to change for good the circumstances that have gone awry with his family. He asked me for a blessing on Friday and I said of course. He and I felt such a powerful feeling of peace and comfort come upon us as I laid my hands upon his head. The words of our loving Father were relayed by me through the spirit to dear Elder X. I don't remember much of what I said, but I do remember crying as I gave the blessing. yes, I still cry a lot. The priesthood is not a magical power or force, it is not a weapon or an agent for personal gain. The priesthood is the knowledge, love and authority of God for the salvation of His children. I want so much to always be worthy of this responsibility and excersize it in righteousness for the benefit of others.
That was the highlight I would say of the week.
I hope all is well at home and I will hopefully hear from you next Monday!
Love, Elder Chandler
